Starting at an early age, I have always had a passion for baking. and consider myself as a late bloomer into the culinary world and did not attend culinary school until my two children were in their late teens. I was watching a commercial for The Art Institute of Houston and enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. No one was more surprised than my husband of 35 years, Jim. I Graduated in 2008 with honors.
In 2009 I opened The Lemon Wedge in downtown Bryan. Jose Montemayor was a mentor and a wonderful friend. He is dearly missed. The restaurant closed in 2014 due to unforeseen circumstances. I loved every minute at The Lemon Wedge. I have cooked and created for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, rehearsal dinners, I have even served the former First Lady at the Bush Library.
The Palio and Keto lifestyle are both taking the culinary world by storm. I am in the process of studying the Keto diet in depth by taking the training program with Dr. Bergs for Keto and Intermittent fasting. I will then be able to apply this to my cooking knowledge. This will help those who need guidance and help plans meals according to their new lifestyle. I am also well versed in Palio and gluten free lifestyles.
Besides my husband, children and two precious grandchildren and one more on the way. I have an almost larger passion for my 23 year old thoroughbred horse, Logan. I have had him since he was 6. I credit the life of my children during their late teens to him. I also have two dogs, Pepper and Ranger that are never far from me when I am home, plus numerous dogs that are outside.
With family & friends, you can always guarantee that the conversation always turns to food and what can be prepared next…Now back to the kitchen where the creativity and fun begins.
"One of the delights of life is eating with friends, second to that is talking about eating, And, for an unsurpassed double whammy, there is talking about eating while you are eating with friends."
